Practicing Bead Work From Then To Today
Beadwork stretches back to the start of the human race, and is common from one culture to the next. As soon as someone took a vine, stripped the leaves away, discovered an old shell with a hole in it, and threaded it on, beading was done.

The reasons may differ from one culture to another. Maybe someone thought the shell was pretty and would like to put it on. Could have been that it was an unusual shell, cherished by the folks, and it was used for power. Maybe the idea of an oyster producing a pearl reminded them of their kids and so they carried it to honor their fertility gods. Whatever the reason, the end result had been the same, a mastered skill which turned out some beautiful pieces of beadwork art.

In modern society so much of what we see is machined, in other words, somebody programed a machine with a pattern, and that is turned out in big amounts with computerized accuracy. But so much of the life of a piece is lost in that manner. Even if an artisan, hand made exactly the same design with the same color beads 10 times, each will be discreetly different, allowing the owner to truly have a wholly exclusive piece to name their own.

If you are keen on mastering beadwork, it is really the single most simple things to learn. It can get quite complex, don't misunderstand me, but even in early basic stages of learning you can make some wonderfully gorgeous pieces. With the web available to everyone, you don't have to leave your home. There are a ton of sites from which you can get the materials you need to start. Additionally there is an array of free training materials on the web, in written as well as video form. You won't run out of things to try!

Whenever you can dream it, you are able to bead it.
