Let them play what they want. Lightly guide, but understand, it is their pretend kitchen and you are the guest. Your child will benefit from taking charge.

They get to practice the "grown up" activity of cooking, just like mom and/or dad. They get to learn from you about food and cooking in a safe environment, if you teach them.
